Deep Conditioning with Organic Coconut Oil Video

Here is a short video of me doing a organic coconut oil deep condition (DC) before I shampoo my hair twice and then condition my hair. After I was done with the DC I sat with a processing cap on my head for a few hours. Sometimes I just sit under a hooded dryer for 30-45 mins (whatever works best for you).

My wide tooth comb by Goody can be found at any drug store, super market or department store.

The coconut oil I used is called Omega Nutrition certified organic coconut oil and I found it in the organic foods isle at my local grocery store. Whole food stores are a great place to find it too or you can always GOOGLE IT!

I found my processing cap (another name for plastic grocery bag of shower cap... LOL) at Sally's (you know what it is) http://sallybeauty.com

I presently wash at ...
I presently wash at least once a week but I might wash more often. I also henna but I? haven't in quite some time (maybe 5 months). I wish I could say I DC 2-4 times a month but I don't anymore so I would say I DC as needed.

Yes... too much ...
Yes... too much moisture will damage your hair..... it will make it mushy and brittle (strangely enough) watch my vid on protein moisture balance. Also... coconut oil may have adverse effects on your body so google it before you use it. I recommend a light coating on your hair if you want to use it as your daily moisturizer? and if you're doing this process don't leave it in longer than overnight so you don't over moisturize.

You don't have to wash it out right away and I wouldn't recommend using as much if you intend to use it as a sealant. ?

Thanks hun! I normally run the coconut oil under hot? water until it's melted.... you could microwave it too.

I deep? condition (DC) before I shampoo my hair. When I'm done with the DC I shampoo my hair twice, one focused at my roots/scalp and the other to cleanse. Then I just use my regular conditioner rinse and style regularly.. as a matter of fact the video I did about styling my hair from curly to straight was done right after this one... check it out!
